Audi Urban Concept Released Ahead Of Frankfurt Debut

Some days back, Audi released teaser sketches of its Urban Concept city car. The sketches teased a Sportback and a Spyder variant of the concept. And now, the automaker has released the real pictures of this concept in both variants. As revealed by the teaser sketches, the two siblings are almost similar. The primary difference between the two variants is the roof, one being a hardtop model and the other being a roofless one. And also, significant difference can be spotted probably in the windshield and also in the retracting side-door windows. According to Audi, the Urban Concept is not based on any previous model. The design is oriented on lightweight construction and efficiency. The car has an unconventional 1+1 seating arrangement. The seats are slightly staggered and everything in the interior, including controls and materials are of ultra-lightweight construction. The steering wheel and the pedals can be adjusted by the driver according to his own body measurements. In the exterior, the concept sports Audi’s corporate grills at the front end in both the variants. The concept features LED lights at various positions in the exterior. One of the characteristics of the Spyder variant will be low, continuous window area and doors opening diagonally to the top. Both the variants seat on 21 inch wheels. As for the powertrain, both the variants will be driven by two e-tron electric motors. Energy is supplied by a lithium-ion battery. Audi has claimed that the curb weight is less than 500 kg for this concept. With the open wheels design, it is very unlikely that this concept will enter the production stage. But some future models may derive their styling cue from this concept. More will be revealed at the Frankfurt debut.

شركة "HTC" تعد بتوفير هاتفها الجديد "إيفو ثري دي"، الذي يعد من أقوى الهواتف الذكية التي تعمل بنظام "أندرويد" مطلع الشهر المقبل في السوق الأوربية. يعمل الهاتف "إيفو ثري دي" بالإصدار 2.3 (Gingerbread) من نظام "آندرويد"، ويتمتع بمكونات مميزة مثل معالج ثنائي بسرعة 1.2 غيغاهيرتز، وذاكرة عشوائية بسعة 1 غيغابايت، وكاميرا أمامية بدقة 1.3 ميغابيكسل لإجراء المكالمات المرئية، فيما يحوي الجزء الخلفي من الهاتف كاميرتين بدقة 5 ميغابيكسل، لتقديم صور وفيديوهات ثلاثية الأبعاد. كما زوّد الهاتف أيضاً بشاشة ثلاثية الأبعاد من نوع (HD) بحجم 4.3 بوصة، وهي الشاشة التي يمكنها عرض الصور والفيديوهات بصورة مجسمة، ولا تتطلب من المستخدم ارتداء النظارات الخاصة بمشاهدة المحتوى ثلاثي الأبعاد.

Oscar Will Run First Leg of Relay

Oscar Pistorius must run the first leg for South Africa if he is to take part in the 4x400m relay at the world championships, the IAAF has confirmed.

"This person is a particular case," the IAAF president, Lamine Diack, said of the athlete who runs with carbon fibre prosthetic blades in place of his lower legs, which were amputated before he was a year old due to a congenital condition.

"The only thing we said to the South African federation is that if he wants to run in the relay, he must run the first leg to avoid danger to other athletes."

The 24-year-old will make history in Daegu when he becomes the first amputee athlete to compete at the world championships.

تحدى إعاقته وشارك بسباق الابطال العاديين برجلين حديديتين

يبدو ان الاعاقة لم تعد تشكل عائقا لدى اصحابها، فبجدارة وبثقة بالنفس يستطيع صاحب الاعاقة تحقيق مبتغاه اذا تسلّح بالأمل، فقد كسر المتسابق الجنوب افريقي اوسكار بيستوريوس كل التقاليد والمفاهيم والتوقعات حين قرر ان يتخلى عن التسابق في رياضة الجري لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة، وان ينافس ابطال عالميين في هذه الرياضة يتمتعون بكامل اعضاء اجسادهم وبالاخص الرجلين.

ونجح بيستوريوس في التأهل الى الدور نصف النهائي من بطولة العالم لالعاب القوى لسباقات الـ400 متر، وذلك بعد منافسة قوية مع مجموعة من العدائين العالميين. واللافت ان بيستوريوس فقد رجليه من مستوى الركبة (كان لم يبلغ السنة من العمر) وشارك في سباقات الاولمبياد الخاص وفاز فيها حيث حلت شفرتان حديديتان مكان رجليه، الا انهما لم يمنعانه من المحافظة على سرعة كبيرة وبات يعرف بـ"متسابق الشفرات".

وبات هذا العداء من جنوب افريقيا اول متسابق فاقد للرجلين يدخل في منافسة مع عدائين آخرين لا يشاركونه هذه الميزة، وقد اضطر لتخطي الكثير من العقبات والاجراءات الادارية والرسمية ليتمكن من تحقيق هذا الانجاز والمشاركة في السباق، وهو حل ثالثاً محققاً وقتاً جيداً مقداره 45.39 ثانية، متأخراً عن الفائز بالمرتبة الاولى البريطاني كريس براون بفارق 0.1 ثانية فقط.
